Tateyama's colorful foliage |

The wind blowing through the peaks brings a feeling of clarity, and nature plays
a symphony of color. No sooner have we bid goodbye to summer than autumn rushes in. From the Summits to
the highlands, brilliant color spreads down the mountain, a flaming carpet of red and gold trees. On Nov.
30, as the beautiful fall color gives way to a world of white, the Alpine Route goes to sleep for the
winter.
Running 1,700m long with a beautiful panoramic view, the Tateyama ropeway connects
Daikando and Kurobedaira. |

Kurobe Dam
After 7 years of construction, Kurobe dam was completed in 1963. At 186 meters, it is the highest domed
arch dam in Japan. |
"Sea in the heaven"
The sea-like clouds in the evening twilight serves as a foil to the silence. The calm and spectacle is
a realization of our being embraced above the clouds. |
